Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: May 8, 2026
1. Overview
This page explains how to request deletion of your personal information from Bois-à-Feu du Nord, in accordance with Quebec's Law 25 and Canada's PIPEDA. It is also published to satisfy Meta Platforms, Inc.'s requirement that any application using Facebook Login publish clear data deletion instructions for its members.
2. What Gets Deleted
On request we remove: your member profile (email, first name, hashed password), your Facebook sign-in links (encrypted token and associated Meta user id), your invitation history, your loyalty points balance and ledger, and your account preferences. Some data — namely transaction records and accounting entries — must be retained for seven (7) years under Canadian tax requirements; see section 6.
3. How to Request Deletion
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your account, with the subject line "Deletion request". If you no longer have access to that address, attach a piece of government-issued identification so that we can confirm your identity before acting. We will acknowledge your request within five (5) business days.
4. Disconnecting Facebook Only
If you want to revoke only the Facebook sign-in connection (without deleting your account), open Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites, select "Bois-à-Feu du Nord", and click "Remove". Meta will notify us and we will automatically erase the encrypted Facebook access token tied to your account. Your member profile remains active and you can continue to sign in with your email and password.
5. Processing Timeline
Once your identity is confirmed, we complete the deletion within thirty (30) days. You will receive a confirmation email when the operation is finished. Encrypted backups may contain residual copies for up to ninety (90) additional days; those copies are overwritten on the next retention cycle and are never used to reactivate an account.
6. Data Retained for Legal Reasons
In accordance with Canadian tax requirements, we retain transaction records (amount, date, Stripe identifier, taxes) for seven (7) years, even after account deletion. These records are anonymized as much as possible — name and email are removed and replaced with an internal identifier — and are only accessible to personnel authorized for accounting and audit purposes.
7. Contact
For any question about data deletion or to exercise your rights under Law 25 and PIPEDA, write to our Privacy Officer: [email protected] — Bois-à-Feu du Nord, Côte-Nord, Quebec. We commit to responding within thirty (30) days.
